Fri Feb 07 08:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Mystery Beneficiary Receives Significant Share of Ratan Tata’s Fortune

**Mumbai, India –** The late industrialist Ratan Tata’s will, released two weeks after his death on October 9th, 2024, has revealed a surprising beneficiary: Mohini Mohan Dutta, a relatively unknown Jamshedpur-based entrepreneur, will inherit nearly a third of Tata’s ₹500 crore (approximately $60 million USD) estate.

Dutta, co-owner of Stallion (later acquired by Tata Services), reportedly maintained a close, six-decade relationship with Tata. While details of their relationship remain unclear, Dutta has publicly acknowledged Tata’s support in his career. His daughter also worked for the Tata conglomerate, further suggesting a long-standing connection.

The will, which is currently undergoing probate, also names Tata’s brother, half-sisters, household staff, and executive assistant Shantanu Naidu as beneficiaries. Tata’s stake in Tata Sons has been transferred to the Ratan Tata Endowment Trust, and provisions have been made for the lifelong care of his pet dog. The distribution of assets, including a beach bungalow in Alibaug, a Juhu residence, and significant fixed deposits, is expected to be finalized within six months. The inclusion of Dutta as a major beneficiary has sparked considerable interest and speculation.
