**Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala – February 7, 2025** – Kerala Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal will present the state’s budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year this Friday at 9 a.m. in the State Legislative Assembly. The presentation will also include the Economic Review 2024 and the final supplementary financial statement for the 2024-25 fiscal year.

The budget is highly anticipated, particularly given the Union Budget’s lack of response to Kerala’s requests for special financial aid to address the aftermath of landslides in Wayanad and escalating human-wildlife conflicts. The general discussion on the budget is scheduled for February 10th, 11th, and 12th.

Further legislative action is planned for February 13th, including consideration of the Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development (Amendment) Bill, 2024, and a bill establishing a commission for elderly citizens. The budget session, which began on January 17th with Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar’s policy address, resumed today after a break.
