**Nagpur, India –** India secured a convincing 4-wicket victory over England in the first One Day International (ODI) of their series at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur on February 6th, 2025. Chasing a target of 249 runs, India reached the finish line in 38.4 overs, losing six wickets in the process.
England, batting first, were bowled out for 248 runs in 47.5 overs. Jos Buttler (52) and Jacob Bethell (51) were the top scorers for England, while Ravindra Jadeja and Harshit Rana took three wickets each for India.
India’s chase was anchored by Shubman Gill’s impressive 87 runs and Shreyas Iyer’s quick-fire 59. Akshar Patel also contributed a valuable 52.
