Fri Feb 07 07:38:52 UTC 2025: ## Indian Pacer Harshit Rana Makes History with Stunning ODI Debut

**Nagpur, India:** Harshit Rana, a 23-year-old Indian pacer, has etched his name in cricket history with a sensational One Day International (ODI) debut. In the first ODI against England at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Rana claimed three wickets in his seven overs, conceding 53 runs and including a maiden. This remarkable performance makes him the first Indian bowler to take three wickets on debut across all three formats of the game (Test, T20I, and ODI).

Rana’s ODI debut followed a similarly impressive T20I debut earlier in the series, where he also took three wickets (4-0-33-3). His Test debut against Australia in Perth earlier this year also saw him take three wickets in the first innings (48 runs).

While his first three overs in the ODI were expensive, conceding 37 runs, Rana bounced back strongly to take three key wickets in his final four overs. His performance was crucial to India’s victory, despite England batsman Phil Salt’s aggressive innings that yielded 26 runs off Rana’s third over.

Rana’s exceptional start to his international career includes four wickets in two Test matches at an average of 50.75 (best figures 3/48), three wickets in one T20I at an average of 11.00, and now three wickets in his ODI debut. His List-A career boasts 22 wickets in 14 matches at an average of 23.45 (best figures 4/17). He replaced Shivam Dube in the Indian squad for the ODI. The young bowler’s stunning debut is already generating significant buzz within the cricketing world.
