**TIRUCHI, February 7, 2025** – A six-month-old boy, identified as Eric, died Friday morning after being run over by a private school van at BHEL quarters in Tiruchi. The child’s parents, who work at the BHEL plant and a nearby private college respectively, had left for work, leaving Eric and his older brother in the care of a woman caretaker.
While the caretaker was seeing off Eric’s brother to school, the infant wandered in front of the departing van. The driver, Satish, reportedly moved the vehicle, resulting in the tragic accident. An autopsy was conducted, and the child’s body released to his parents. BHEL police have named Satish as the accused and are currently investigating the incident.
