Fri Feb 07 15:31:10 UTC 2025: ## Himesh Reshammiya’s “Badass Ravi Kumar” Bombs at the Box Office: Review Gives 0.5 Stars
**NEW DELHI** – Himesh Reshammiya’s latest film, “Badass Ravi Kumar,” starring Reshammiya himself in the titular role, has received a scathing review, scoring a dismal 0.5 out of 5 stars. The Valentine’s Week release, a spy thriller set in the 1980s, features Reshammiya as Inspector Ravi Kumar, tasked with recovering a microfilm containing the names of India’s secret agents that has fallen into the wrong hands.
The plot, described as illogical and prioritizing Reshammiya above all else, involves a convoluted scheme with international criminals, a valuable diamond, and, inexplicably, several musical numbers featuring Reshammiya’s signature style. Supporting actors, including Prabhu Deva, Kirti Kulhari, and an ensemble cast, are present but ultimately overshadowed by Reshammiya’s dominating screen presence.
The review criticized the film’s lack of logic and its heavy reliance on Reshammiya’s persona, stating that “entertainment means three things – Himesh, Himesh, and Himesh.” While the film boasts action sequences and dialogues described as “goosebump-inducing,” the reviewer ultimately found the film to be a nonsensical spectacle that fails to deliver on its promises. Although the marketing attempts to leverage the 1980s aesthetic, the film itself does little to justify the connection.
Despite the underwhelming reception, the film features music composed and written by Reshammiya himself. The reviewer concludes that the film might appeal only to those seeking mindless action and dialogue, willing to overlook plot inconsistencies and prioritizing Reshammiya’s performance above all else.
