Fri Feb 07 00:05:56 UTC 2025: ## Randwick Petersham Cricket Club and Cricket Ireland Celebrate Decade-Long Partnership
**Sydney, Australia –** Randwick Petersham Cricket Club (RPCC) and Cricket Ireland are celebrating ten years of a highly successful partnership, forged from an initial conversation at a training session a decade ago. This collaboration resulted in RPCC becoming the first club side to establish an official overseas scholarship program with an international team.
For the past ten years, the program has provided Irish cricketers with a “second home” in Coogee during the summer months. Notable players like Andrew Balbirnie, Curtis Campher, George Dockrell, Harry Tector, and Lorcan Tucker have honed their skills at RPCC, going on to achieve significant success in Test matches and World Cups.
The partnership has also included reciprocal tours, with RPCC visiting Ireland in 2017 and hosting Cricket Ireland at Coogee Oval in 2015 (a World Cup warm-up match) and again in 2022 (prior to the T20 World Cup).
“It’s incredible to see how far this partnership has come,” said Michael Whitney AM, President of RPCC. “We’re proud to have supported so many talented Irish players and to witness their achievements on the world stage.”
Richard Holdsworth, Director of Cricket at Cricket Ireland, echoed Whitney’s sentiments, highlighting the program’s impact not only on the players’ cricketing development but also on their personal growth. He expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of RPCC.
The anniversary marks a significant milestone in a relationship that has seen a constant flow of talented Irish cricketers benefit from the training and cultural exchange, further cementing the strong bond between the two cricketing bodies. Both organizations look forward to many more years of successful collaboration.
