**Thane, Maharashtra –** A 24-year-old man was tragically killed on Tuesday evening after being struck by a train while taking a selfie on railway tracks in Thane district, Maharashtra. Sahir Ali, a West Bengal native visiting relatives in Ambernath, was with friends and family near the tracks under a flyover between Ambernath and Badlapur stations when the accident occurred.
According to Kalyan Government Railway Police (GRP), Ali was taking a selfie when he failed to notice the approaching Koyna Express. He was struck and killed instantly. GRP officials arrived on the scene and transported his body to a government hospital for a post-mortem. A case of accidental death has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
