HYDERABAD, INDIA – The Telangana government has released the Rythu Bharosa funds into the accounts of 17.03 lakh farmers, according to Agriculture Minister Tummal. This follows Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s directives. The total amount credited so far, including the initial release, reaches ₹1,126.54 crore.
The government has already allocated ₹7,625 crore for Rythu Bandhu (farmer investment support), ₹20,616.89 crore for loan waivers, and ₹3,000 crore for Rythu Bhima (farmer insurance). Minister Tummal also stated that the government is taking special measures to ensure remunerative prices for crops.
The disbursement is being phased: farmers with one acre of land have received their full payment, while those with two and three acres will receive theirs in the next two days. Further disbursements will follow for farmers with larger land holdings. This is the first such payment since the Revanth Reddy government came to power.
