Thu Feb 06 00:30:00 UTC 2025: **Telangana Government Releases Rythu Bharosa Funds to 17 Lakh Farmers**

HYDERABAD, INDIA – The Telangana government released funds under the Rythu Bharosa scheme to farmers cultivating up to one acre of land. Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao announced that the funds were credited to the accounts of 17.03 lakh farmers on Wednesday.

The release follows Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s directive to disburse the second installment of funds. The scheme, launched on Republic Day, saw its first installment disbursed on January 27th. This second installment saw the highest number of beneficiaries in Nalgonda district (1.55 lakh), followed by Siddipet (1.20 lakh), Medak and Sangareddy (1.15 lakh each), Kamareddy (1.09 lakh), and Khammam (1.04 lakh).

Minister Rao stated that a total of ₹1,126.54 crore has been credited to the accounts of 21,45,330 farmers since January 27th. He emphasized the government’s commitment to timely disbursement of funds, assuring that the remaining payments will be released soon. He also highlighted previous government spending on Rythu Bandhu (₹7,625 crore), loan waivers (₹20,616.89 crore), and Rythu Bima (₹3,000 crore).

Further, the Minister mentioned that ₹406.24 crore was spent through Markfed for the procurement of soybean, red gram, and black gram. He detailed the procurement of paddy, including a ₹500 bonus for small grains, totaling ₹1,154 crore. Finally, the Minister requested the central government to extend the deadline for cotton procurement and to fix support prices for turmeric and chili.
