KARIMNAGAR, February 6, 2025 – The Karimnagar District Bar Association is urging Legislative Council candidates in the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Graduates’ Constituency to prioritize the needs of advocates. General secretary Bethi Mahender Reddy issued a statement calling for the enactment of an Advocates Protection Act and the creation of a dedicated “Advocates MLC Constituency,” similar to the existing Teachers’ Constituency.
Key demands from the association include a monthly stipend for junior lawyers, an Advocates’ Welfare Fund with a ₹1,000 crore corpus, and the establishment of an Advocates’ Housing Society. Reddy suggested that candidates pledging support for these demands would gain the advocates’ votes.
