Thu Feb 06 03:22:25 UTC 2025: ## Family of Five Killed in Karnataka Bus Accident

**Yadgir, Karnataka –** A family of five, including three young children, tragically perished in a road accident in Yadgir district, Karnataka, on Wednesday. The horrific incident occurred near Tinthani Arch when a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus rear-ended their motorcycle.

The victims were identified as Anjaneya (35), his wife Gangamma (28), their children Pavithra (5) and Rayappa (3), and Anjaneya’s one-year-old nephew, Hanumantha. The family was traveling from Surapura to Tinthani when the bus, traveling from Kalaburagi to Chincholi, collided with their motorcycle. Three members of the family died at the scene, while the other two succumbed to their injuries en route to the hospital. The motorcycle was severely damaged.

Police reports suggest the bus driver lost control of the vehicle, causing the fatal collision. This tragedy comes just days after a series of deadly accidents across the state claimed at least 14 lives.

On January 22nd, separate incidents in Karwar and Raichur districts resulted in further loss of life. Ten people, mostly vegetable vendors, died when a truck carrying them overturned on National Highway 63 near Karwar. A tire burst is suspected to have caused the accident, which occurred in misty conditions. Fifteen others were injured. In a separate incident in Raichur, four people, including three students, were killed when their vehicle overturned.

These multiple accidents have highlighted concerns over road safety in Karnataka, prompting calls for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations and improved road infrastructure. Investigations into all incidents are underway.
