**Patna, Bihar, February 5, 2025** – Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday advocated for a nationwide caste census and emphasized the need for Dalits and weaker sections to assume leadership positions in all Indian institutions. Speaking at the birth anniversary celebration of Dalit icon Jaglal Choudhary, Mr. Gandhi asserted his commitment to fighting for the rights of the downtrodden.
He criticized the BJP and RSS, alleging their opposition to the Constitution due to its protections for Dalits and marginalized communities. Mr. Gandhi highlighted the underrepresentation of Dalits and weaker sections in current power structures, stating that a caste census is crucial to accurately identify the number of Dalits, minorities, and other marginalized groups.
