Wed Feb 05 11:51:17 UTC 2025: ## Fireworks Factory Fire Injures Six in Virudhunagar
**Virudhunagar, February 5, 2025** – A fire at the Sathyaprabhu Fireworks unit near R.R. Nagar in Virudhunagar district on Wednesday afternoon injured six workers, including four women. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. when workers were filling chemicals for fireworks, and friction during the process caused an explosion. The fire quickly spread to 12 working sheds.
The most seriously injured is S. Simon Daniel (33), who suffered 100% burns. R. Veeralakshmi (35) sustained 35% burns, and P. Mahalakshmi suffered 25% burns. Other injured workers include K. Kasturi (33), N. Murugeswari (55), and J. Manickam (54), who suffered a right-hand fracture.
Veeralakshmi is receiving treatment at Sattur Government Hospital, Mahalakshmi at Sivakasi GH, and the others at Virudhunagar Government Medical College Hospital. Firefighters from Virudhunagar extinguished the blaze. Police are investigating the incident and have identified the unit owner as S. Mohanraj (49). The Vachchakarapatti police are leading the investigation.
