**Kanyakumari, February 5, 2025** – A sub-court in Padmanabhapuram, Kanyakumari, has sentenced Sukumaran to seven years of rigorous imprisonment and a ₹5,000 fine for a 2014 attempted murder case. The victim, Chellappan, and his wife Thangal, were attacked by Sukumaran over a land dispute on January 2, 2014.
Judge K. Mariappan’s verdict also included disciplinary action against the investigating police officers. The court cited their inadequate investigation and failure to submit crucial evidence as grounds for the disciplinary measures. The case was registered at the Thuckalay police station.
