Wed Feb 05 05:47:01 UTC 2025: ## Iran Secretly Developing Nuclear Missiles Capable of Reaching Europe: Report

**Tehran, Iran** – A new report by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), an exiled opposition group, alleges that Iran is secretly developing nuclear-capable missiles with a range exceeding 3,000 kilometers (1,800 miles), potentially reaching European targets. The report claims these weapons are being developed at two sites disguised as satellite launch facilities, utilizing designs provided by North Korea.

One facility, the Shahrud missile facility, operated by Iran’s Organization for Advanced Defense Research and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), is allegedly producing Ghaem-100 missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads to reach as far as Greece. The NCRI claims at least three test launches, disguised as satellite launches, have already occurred at Shahrud, with further tests planned in the coming months.

A second site, located southeast of Semnan, is reportedly developing Simorgh missiles, also based on North Korean technology. The NCRI states that portions of this facility are underground and have been expanding since 2005, camouflaged under the guise of Iran’s space program.

Soona Samsami, a US representative of the NCRI, stated that Iran is accelerating its nuclear weapons program to maintain the status quo and avoid international intervention. However, she highlighted that recent Israeli attacks on Iranian air defense systems have created a window of opportunity for the West to counter Iran’s nuclear ambitions, arguing that Iran is currently at its weakest. Samsami urged the international community to hold the Iranian regime accountable for its actions.
