**Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh, February 5, 2025** – A laborer was injured today in Narayanpur district, Chhattisgarh, after a pressure-based improvised explosive device (IED) detonated at an iron ore mine. Police confirmed that the blast occurred at the Aamdai Ghati iron ore mine, approximately 350 km from Raipur, the state capital. The injured worker was transported to a hospital in Chhote Dongar.
The mine is operated by Jayaswal Neco Industries Limited (JNIL), a project that has faced long-standing opposition from Maoist rebels. This is not the first such incident; in November 2023, two laborers were killed in a similar explosion at the same mine. Police are investigating the incident.
