Wed Feb 05 13:18:07 UTC 2025: ## Telangana High Court Quashes Criminal Case Against Congress MLA
**Hyderabad, February 5, 2025** – The Telangana High Court has quashed a criminal case against Parigi MLA T. Ram Mohan Reddy of the Congress party. The case, registered in 2019 during Lok Sabha elections, stemmed from a protest held by Mr. Reddy and other political leaders outside the Vikarabad Revenue Division Office.
The case, filed under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code based on a complaint by an election flying squad officer, was initially investigated by the Vikarabad police. It was later transferred to a Hyderabad court.
Justice K. Lakshman ruled that the investigating officer failed to follow proper procedure under Section 155 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The court also noted that the investigation did not extend to other accused named in the case, including Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy (BJP), and Tandur MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy (BRS). While the Speaker previously secured relief from the High Court, cases involving the other public representatives remain pending.
