Wed Feb 05 19:27:48 IST 2025: ## Exit Polls Predict BJP Landslide Victory in Delhi Assembly Elections
**New Delhi:** Voting concluded Wednesday in the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025, with all 70 seats reporting a high voter turnout. While the official counting is yet to take place, several exit polls are projecting a resounding victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Seven exit polls released so far consistently indicate a BJP majority, with predictions ranging from 39 to 44 seats. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is projected to win between 25 and 28 seats, while the Congress is predicted to secure only 2-3 seats. NDTV’s “Poll of Polls,” aggregating the results of multiple exit polls, also forecasts a BJP win.
BJP leaders have expressed confidence in the exit poll predictions. Senior BJP leader Vijay Goel stated that if the BJP forms the government, the Chief Minister will not reside in the Chief Minister’s residence (Sheesh Mahal). BJP MP Manoj Tiwari congratulated Delhi’s electorate and anticipated a landslide victory for the BJP. Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva attributed the projected win to the people’s desire for a corruption-free and development-oriented government. He also alluded to instances of alleged voter fraud that were reportedly addressed.
However, the AAP has dismissed the exit polls, with party spokesperson claiming that these predictions will be proven incorrect. One exit poll, Peoples Pulse, predicted a significantly lower seat count for AAP, between 10-19 seats.
This election saw high voter enthusiasm, with an average turnout of 57.70% across all constituencies by 5 PM. Some constituencies, particularly those with a Muslim majority, reported higher than average turnout. The election witnessed some isolated incidents of alleged irregularities, including accusations of attempted voter fraud in areas like Seelampur. The Election Commission imposed a ban on the release of exit polls from 7 AM to 6:30 PM on February 5th.
Key races to watch include the New Delhi constituency (Arvind Kejriwal vs. Pervesh Verma and Sandeep Dixit) and Kalkaji (Atishi vs. Ramesh Bidhuri and Alka Lamba). The final results will be known after the official counting of votes.
