Wed Feb 05 19:27:46 IST 2025: ## Delhi Exit Polls: Mixed Accuracy in Predicting AAP’s Dominance
**New Delhi, Feb 5, 2025** – Several news channels and poll agencies are poised to release exit poll predictions for today’s Delhi Assembly elections, with results expected on February 8th. While the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has secured resounding victories in the past two elections, the accuracy of exit polls in predicting the extent of their success has been varied.
In the 2015 election, AAP secured a landslide victory, winning 67 out of 70 seats. Although most exit polls correctly predicted an AAP win, none accurately forecast their overwhelming majority. Predictions ranged from 35-43 seats (India TV-C Voter) to 48 seats (Today’s Chanakya).
Similarly, the 2020 election saw AAP win 62 seats, again demonstrating their dominance. Exit polls in 2020 also mostly projected an AAP win, but estimates varied considerably. Predictions ranged from 47 seats (Times Now) to 59-68 seats (India Today-Axis My India).
The Election Commission has imposed a ban on the publication or dissemination of exit polls between 7:00 am and 6:30 pm today to prevent influencing voters before the polls conclude. The accuracy of the various exit poll predictions will become apparent following the official declaration of results on February 8th.
