**Agartala, Tripura, February 5, 2025** – The Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala has resumed all visa and consular services, effective today, following a two-month suspension. The suspension, which began on December 3, 2024, was implemented after a protest at the mission’s premises following the arrest of Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das in Dhaka.
The protest led to the suspension of three police personnel and a summons to the Assistant High Commissioner, Arif Mahamad, to Dhaka. Increased security measures are now in place at the consulate. First Secretary Md Al Amin confirmed the resumption of services in a notice issued Tuesday.
