Wed Feb 05 05:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Gold Prices Hit Record High in Jaipur, Driven by Global Trade War Fears

**Jaipur, India** – Gold prices in Jaipur soared to a record high on Tuesday, reaching ₹85,200 per 10 grams for pure gold and ₹79,800 for jeweler’s gold. This marks a ₹900 increase from the previous day. The surge follows a similar trend in other parts of India, with Kota exceeding ₹84,000 per 10 grams for 24-carat gold and Delhi prices also reaching record levels.

This price increase represents a more than 32% rise since February and a 9% increase (approximately ₹6,900 per 10 grams) since the start of 2025. The record high is fueled by global anxieties surrounding a potential trade war, spurred by US President’s policies and tariffs imposed on Mexico, Canada, and China.

Investors are flocking to gold as a safe haven asset, preferring it over the fluctuating stock market and even Bitcoin, which recently plummeted after reaching an all-time high. The rising demand is also being seen in China. The surge in global gold prices comes after COMEX April futures contracts reached a record high of $2,872 per ounce on Monday. Gold’s role as an alternative global currency is also contributing to its increased value.
