Tue Feb 04 10:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Tech Millionaire Walks Out of Podcast Due to Delhi Air Pollution

**New Delhi, India** – American tech millionaire Bryan Johnson, known for his anti-aging research, abruptly ended a podcast recording in Delhi due to severe air pollution. Despite using an N95 mask and an air purifier in a five-star hotel, Johnson left midway through an interview with Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath, citing burning eyes, throat irritation, and a skin rash caused by the poor air quality.

Johnson confirmed the incident on X (formerly Twitter), stating that the hotel room’s ventilation system circulated outside air, rendering his air purifier ineffective. He noted that the indoor Air Quality Index (AQI) reached 130, with PM2.5 levels equivalent to smoking 3.4 cigarettes in 24 hours. He criticized the normalization of air pollution in India, highlighting the lack of widespread mask usage and the absence of a national emergency declaration addressing the issue.

Johnson drew a parallel between India’s air pollution crisis and America’s obesity epidemic, stating that his experience in India helped him recognize the extent of the problem. He argued that improving air quality in India would yield greater health benefits than curing all cancers.

This incident follows Johnson’s previous posts on X offering advice on mitigating air pollution in India. His team recently demonstrated various pollution-control measures in Mumbai. The news comes as the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) revoked Stage 3 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) for Delhi due to improved AQI levels.
