**MUMBAI, INDIA** – American entrepreneur Bryan Johnson, known for his anti-aging pursuits, abruptly ended his participation in a recent episode of the popular Indian podcast “WTF is,” hosted by Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath. Johnson cited India’s poor air quality as the reason for his early departure.
In a subsequent statement, Johnson explained that he developed a rash and throat burn after three days in India due to the polluted air, even with a personal air purifier. He expressed surprise at the seemingly normalized acceptance of the air pollution, noting the lack of mask usage despite visible health risks, particularly for children. Johnson argued that improving air quality would yield greater health benefits for India than curing all cancers.
While acknowledging the gracious hospitality of his hosts, which included Nikhil Kamath, his brother Nithin Kamath (Zerodha CEO), Seema Kamath, and other guests like Prashanth Prakash and Jitendra Chouksey, Johnson emphasized the severity of the air pollution’s impact on his health. He stated that his symptoms disappeared upon returning to the US, where he believes a different, long-term health crisis – obesity – poses an even greater threat. The podcast episode focused on longevity and health and wellness trends.
