**Imphal, Manipur – February 4, 2025** – Security forces in Manipur have conducted successful operations resulting in the seizure of a significant cache of arms and ammunition across Bishnupur and Tengnoupal districts. The operations, carried out between Sunday and Monday, yielded a substantial arsenal including AK-47 rifles, SMGs, pistols, mortars, hand grenades, IED explosives, and a large quantity of ammunition.
In Bishnupur district, a search near the Khuga river uncovered one AK-47 rifle, a 2-inch mortar, two SMG carbines, two 9mm pistols, three hand grenades, two IEDs, twenty gelatine sticks, and five 9mm rounds. Separately, a 9mm pistol was seized from an individual arrested in Imphal West district. Further searches in Tengnoupal district uncovered an AK-47 rifle, a .303 rifle, a 12-bore rifle, and a 9mm pistol, along with associated ammunition.
Police have confirmed the arrests and seizures, highlighting the ongoing efforts to maintain security along the Indo-Myanmar border. The recovered weapons and explosives are believed to be linked to ongoing security concerns in the region.
