**New York, February 4, 2025** – India has been lauded by the United Nations for its timely and full payment of its 2025 regular budget assessment. The country contributed US$37.64 million on January 31st, placing it among 35 member states recognized for meeting their financial obligations within the stipulated 30-day period.
UN Spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric announced India’s inclusion in the “honour roll” at Monday’s press briefing, expressing gratitude for India’s consistent commitment. This timely payment reflects India’s ongoing dedication to fulfilling its responsibilities as a UN member state.
The recognition comes as UN General Assembly President Philemon Yang, currently scheduled to visit India from February 4th to 8th, recently praised India for its consistent and prompt payment of UN dues. Mr. Yang’s comments, made in an interview last week, further highlight India’s responsible financial contribution to the organization.
