NEW DELHI (February 4, 2025) – Delhi Police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Chief Minister candidate Atishi for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and obstructing public servants. The FIR, registered at the Govindpuri Police Station, stems from an incident on Fateh Singh Marg where Ms. Atishi, accompanied by approximately 50-70 supporters and 10 vehicles, allegedly refused police orders to vacate the area, a violation of MCC guidelines. Police claim she obstructed an officer in the performance of his duty.
Ms. Atishi responded on X, accusing the Election Commission of inaction against alleged hooliganism by BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri and his family, while simultaneously registering a case against her. The investigation is ongoing.
