**TOKYO, October 5** – Actress Kojima Ruriko (31) was hospitalized after her husband was found dead in their home and subsequently rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased on October 4. While Kojima sustained minor injuries, the circumstances surrounding her husband’s death remain under investigation by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department.

A police spokesperson stated that the details surrounding Kojima’s injuries are currently unclear and are part of the ongoing investigation.

Kojima, who left her agency, Horipro, in February 2023 to pursue studies in China, married a two-year-younger company executive in the sauna and spa business that March. She announced her pregnancy in August and has since given birth to their first child.

Kojima began her career after winning the Horipro Talent Scout Caravan in 2009. She is known for her seven-year stint as MC on TBS’s “Saturday Plus.” She was previously reported to be dating the author of the popular manga “Kingdom,” Hara Yasuhisa, in 2020. The police investigation is ongoing.
