**COIMBATORE, February 3, 2025** – A 24-year-old man, A. Sujith, was arrested on Monday for attacking a nurse with a knife outside her hostel in Coimbatore. The incident occurred on Sunday evening at a hostel attached to a private hospital.
According to Race Course police, Sujith, a wall painter from Nagercoil, had been in a four-year relationship with the 22-year-old victim from Kanniyakumari district. After she stopped responding to his calls and messages, he traveled to Coimbatore and confronted her at her hostel. An argument ensued, escalating into a knife attack. The nurse sustained a cut to her hand while defending herself.
Security guards intervened, apprehending Sujith before handing him over to the police. He was produced in court and remanded to judicial custody. The police investigation is ongoing.
