Mon Feb 03 00:00:22 IST 2025: ## Siddaramaiah to Serve Full Term as Karnataka CM, Says Home Minister

**Bengaluru, February 3, 2025** – Speculation surrounding Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s tenure has been swiftly dismissed by Home Minister G. Parameshwara. Following a prediction by BJP leader and Leader of the Opposition R. Ashok that Siddaramaiah would step down in November 2025, Parameshwara asserted that Siddaramaiah will complete his full five-year term.

Parameshwara stated that the Congress Legislature Party elected Siddaramaiah for a five-year term, refuting claims that a 30-month limit had been imposed. He added that neither the party legislators nor the high command had been informed of any such shorter term. While acknowledging the high command ultimately holds the authority to decide on a change in leadership, Parameshwara expressed his support for Siddaramaiah.

Ashok, who had predicted a leadership change in November, citing his “insight into state politics,” was met with a sarcastic response from Parameshwara, who questioned Ashok’s “astrological skills.” Ashok himself stated that “a game of musical chairs will begin in November,” hinting at a planned replacement for Siddaramaiah.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah himself addressed the ongoing speculation, stating that the BJP’s repeated predictions of his removal were unfounded and that the final decision rests with the party high command. Deputy Chief Minister and KPCC chief D.K. Shivakumar also commented on Ashok’s prediction, jokingly suggesting he would consult Ashok for future predictions.
