**Tiruchi, February 3, 2025** – A significant road improvement project is underway in Tiruchi district, aimed at enhancing connectivity in several villages. The Sembulichanpatti-Erumaipatti-Erikadu Road, located in the Pachamalai region, is undergoing a complete relaying under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) – the Prime Minister’s Rural Road Scheme.
The ₹5.20 crore project, which began in September 2024, is expected to be completed by June 2025. It includes the construction of two bridges and revetments to protect vulnerable sections of the road. The upgrades will significantly benefit residents of Sembulichanpatti, Maruthai, Erumaipatti, Erikadu, and surrounding villages. The road had suffered extensive damage during monsoon season a couple of years prior, causing considerable hardship to local communities who had actively advocated for its repair.
