Sun Feb 02 17:48:02 UTC 2025: ## Israeli Military Destroys Buildings in Jenin, Kills Two Palestinians
**Jenin, West Bank – February 3, 2025** – The Israeli military conducted a major operation in the Jenin refugee camp on Sunday, February 2nd, destroying several buildings which it claimed were used as terrorist infrastructure. The operation, part of the ongoing “Iron Wall” offensive launched last month, resulted in thick plumes of smoke rising over the city. Palestinian sources reported that approximately 20 buildings were simultaneously demolished in the eastern part of the camp.
The Israeli military also reported that a tactical group conducted operations near Tamun, uncovering weapons and extending the counter-terrorism operation to five villages. Leaflets were distributed warning residents not to approach Israeli forces and accusing Iran of supplying weapons to militants in the area.
The operation follows two Israeli air strikes in Jenin on Saturday, which killed five Palestinians, including a 16-year-old, according to the Palestinian health ministry. The Israeli military stated that the strikes targeted armed terrorists. Separately on Sunday, the Israeli military killed two Palestinians: a 73-year-old man in the Jenin refugee camp and a 27-year-old man in Al-Aroub camp. Islamic Jihad’s military wing claimed responsibility for two of the deaths.
The ongoing violence in the West Bank has escalated sharply since the October 2023 Gaza war. The Palestinian health ministry reports at least 883 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli troops or settlers since the start of the war, while Israeli officials cite at least 30 Israeli deaths in Palestinian attacks. The situation remains tense, with a large Israeli military presence reported in several areas.
