Mon Feb 03 08:14:42 UTC 2025: ## Delhi Election Commission Deploys Observers Following AAP’s Allegations

**NEW DELHI, February 3, 2025** – The Election Commission of India (ECI) has deployed three types of independent observers across all 70 Delhi Assembly constituencies. This follows allegations by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convener Arvind Kejriwal of attacks on his party workers ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.

The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Delhi confirmed the deployment via a social media post, specifying that Independent General Observers, Independent Police Observers, and Independent Expenditure Observers have been assigned. The CEO’s post also included contact details for the observers assigned to the New Delhi constituency.

Kejriwal’s request for independent observers stemmed from reported incidents, including an alleged assault on AAP MLA Mohinder Goyal during a public rally on February 1st. Goyal, the candidate for the Rithala Assembly segment, was allegedly attacked while interacting with residents.

The ECI’s action is intended to ensure fair and transparent elections in the lead-up to the Delhi Assembly polls.
