PATHANAMTHITTA, Kerala – The 113th Ayiroor-Cherukolpuzha Hindu Matha Parishad, an eight-day religious gathering, commenced in Pathanamthitta on Sunday, February 2nd, 2025. Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar inaugurated the event, emphasizing the importance of unity and humanity in Hinduism, describing the faith as a way of life rather than just a religion.
The opening ceremony featured processions from various temples across Kerala and was attended by prominent figures including Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan, Water Resources Minister Roshy Augustine, and Member of Parliament Anto Antony. Mr. Satheesan highlighted India’s inclusive tradition and the importance of upholding this principle within Hinduism. The Parishad’s official newspaper, *Pampa Theertham*, was also released at the event.
The gathering will continue until February 9th and feature several high-profile speakers and events. These include Goa Governor P.S. Sreedharan Pillai inaugurating a meeting of Ayyappa devotees on February 4th, and RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat inaugurating a Hindu Ekatha Sammelan on February 5th. Union Minister of State George Kurien will inaugurate a session on culture and ecology on the same day. West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose will preside over the valedictory session on February 9th.
