NANDYAL, February 3, 2025 – The Srisailam temple is preparing for a massive influx of devotees for the upcoming Maha Sivaratri Brahmotsavams, scheduled from February 19th to March 1st. Chief Festival Officer (CFO) S.S. Chandrasekhar Azad conducted a review meeting on Monday, outlining key preparations to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for visitors.

Azad, who previously served as the temple’s Executive Officer, emphasized the importance of providing adequate drinking water, particularly for those trekking to the temple. Temporary bathing facilities en route and at Hatakeswaram are also planned. He stressed the need for efficient crowd management to minimize darshan waiting times and directed officials to erect clear signage throughout the temple complex.

Maintaining sanitation and hygiene is a top priority, with instructions for frequent cleaning of toilets and the deployment of sufficient staff for waste removal. Given the anticipated large number of devotees from Karnataka, Azad requested the deployment of Shiv Sevaks from the neighboring state at information centers. Medical facilities, including well-stocked medical camps in coordination with the state health department, will be in place.

Further, religious discourses and bhajans are planned to enrich the devotees’ experience. Azad also mandated a checklist system to ensure the upkeep of temple rooms, cottages, and dormitories. The comprehensive preparations aim to make the Maha Sivaratri Brahmotsavams a memorable and spiritually fulfilling experience for all attendees.
