**Bengaluru, February 3, 2025** – The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has significantly enhanced its bus tracking system, providing commuters with more reliable real-time information. The upgrade involves two key improvements: the migration of its Automatic Vehicle Location System (AVLS) data to the Karnataka State Data Centre (KSDC), and a revamped “Namma BMTC” mobile application.
The AVLS data migration, completed on January 31st, ensures improved data security, faster processing speeds, and increased uptime. The updated app now offers live tracking of over 5,200 BMTC buses, including the newest electric and BS6-compliant vehicles. Commuters can now access real-time bus locations and predicted arrival times directly through the app.
A senior BMTC official stated that the app’s redesigned interface provides better navigation, allowing for more efficient journey planning. The move to the KSDC also offers enhanced data security and reliability, benefiting the more than 5,000 buses tracked.
