**Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India –** Devotees flocked to the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj today to celebrate Basant Panchami, a festival honoring the Hindu goddess Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge and wisdom. The day is considered auspicious for seeking her blessings. The ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, which began on January 13th and continues until February 26th, saw record participation in today’s holy dip (“Amrit Snan”).

A Naga Sadhu commented that today’s arrangements were superior to previous Amrit Snans, calling today’s participation the largest for the saints. Swami Kailashanand Giri, a spiritual leader, reported that all 13 Akhadas (religious orders) participated in the holy dip and offered prayers. He expressed the Nagas’ excitement and congratulated the Uttar Pradesh government on the successful event. The festival saw a large number of devotees taking the holy dip and performing prayers. The recitation of the Saraswati Vandana mantra was also prominent, as it is believed to invoke the goddess’s blessings.
