Sun Feb 02 04:11:29 UTC 2025: ## Jaishankar Slams Delhi Govt, AAP Confident Ahead of Assembly Polls

**NEW DELHI** – With Delhi Assembly elections just days away, the political temperature is soaring. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, accusing it of failing to provide basic amenities to Delhi residents. Speaking at an event with the South Indian Community of Delhi, Jaishankar expressed shame at having to conceal the lack of access to housing, gas cylinders, piped water (under the Jal Jeevan Mission), and healthcare (under Ayushman Bharat) from foreign dignitaries. He asserted that Delhi has been neglected over the past decade and urged voters to consider a change of government on February 5th.

In contrast, AAP MP Sanjay Singh expressed unwavering confidence in his party’s victory, predicting AAP will secure over 60 seats in the 70-seat assembly and form a government with an absolute majority.

The upcoming elections, scheduled for February 5th, with vote counting on February 8th, see a fierce contest between the ruling AAP, the BJP, and the Congress. Jaishankar’s criticism adds fuel to the already intense campaign, highlighting the provision of essential services as a key election issue.
