**Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh:** The Surya Narayana Swamy temple in Arasavalli is gearing up for a grand celebration. A Ksheeraabhishekam (milk ablution) ceremony for the deity will commence at midnight on Monday, February 3rd, 2025. The temple will open for public darshan from 6 AM to 4 PM on Tuesday, followed by a special evening darshan from 6 PM to 11 PM, during which the deity will be adorned with flowers.
Authorities anticipate approximately 1.2 lakh devotees to attend the Rathasapthami festival, leading to robust security measures with a deployment of 2,300 police personnel. Officials from Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, and Parvathipuram Manyam districts are coordinating the event. Central and state ministers, along with high-ranking officials, are expected to attend. This year’s celebrations are particularly significant as Rathasapthami has been declared a state festival for the first time.
To ensure a smooth experience for devotees, special arrangements have been made, including 150 mobile toilets and 80,000 water bottles. VIP darshan has been cancelled due to ongoing MLC election regulations. The temple’s Rajagopuram has been illuminated with electric lights.
A diverse range of cultural events is planned throughout the day, including a helicopter ride, volleyball matches, musical performances (including Saxophone, folk dance, classical music and dance), and a laser show.
