The series saw a consistent struggle for Jos Buttler’s team against the dominant Indian side. Apart from the initial matches, captain Buttler himself significantly underperformed, contributing to England’s decisive losses.
This defeat marks a shameful record for England in T20 cricket. Their 150-run loss in one of the matches places them second on the list of largest defeats by runs in the T20I format. The record for the largest defeat still belongs to New Zealand, who suffered a 168-run defeat against India in Ahmedabad earlier this year.
