Sat Feb 01 01:44:55 IST 2025: ## Kejriwal Promises Increased Savings for Delhi Residents if AAP Re-elected

**New Delhi, February 1, 2025** – Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal has pledged that Delhi residents will save an additional ₹10,000 per month if the AAP is re-elected, adding to the ₹25,000 they currently save through existing schemes. He warned that a BJP victory would result in the termination of these schemes, imposing an extra monthly burden of ₹25,000 on each family.

Kejriwal cited improvements in schools (saving ₹10,000 per family with two children), electricity subsidies (₹5,000), free healthcare (₹5,000), free bus rides (₹2,500), and reduced water bills (₹2,000) as contributors to the current savings. He campaigned alongside party candidate B.B. Tyagi in Laxmi Nagar, contesting against BJP MLA Abhay Verma.

However, not all residents share Kejriwal’s optimism. While some expressed satisfaction with existing free services, others voiced concerns about infrastructure issues, such as inadequate sewage systems, and expressed cynicism about election promises. One resident, Amit Kumar, highlighted the need for development beyond cash transfer schemes, pointing to overflowing sewers in his neighborhood. Another, Madhu Dikshit, expressed a common sentiment of distrust towards politicians, noting their tendency to disappear after elections. A third resident, Bintu Jaiswal, emphasized the public’s desire for tangible development amidst the ongoing conflict between the AAP and the Lieutenant-Governor.
