Fri Jan 31 20:34:57 UTC 2025: ## Iran Vows Immediate, Decisive Response to Any Attack on Nuclear Facilities

**Doha, Qatar** – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has issued a stark warning, stating that any attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities by the United States or Israel would trigger an immediate and decisive response, plunging the region into all-out war. In an interview with Al Jazeera, Araghchi described such an attack as “one of the biggest historical mistakes the US could make.”

Araghchi’s comments, made during a visit to Qatar, reflect growing concerns in Iran about potential US-Israeli military action following the re-election of President Donald Trump. He emphasized that Iran would respond swiftly and forcefully to any aggression.

During his visit, Araghchi met with Qatari officials, praising Qatar’s mediation efforts in achieving a ceasefire in Gaza. He also met with Hamas officials, declaring the Palestinian resistance in Gaza a “victory” despite the devastating toll of the recent conflict. He cited Hamas’s ability to negotiate with Israel after the war as evidence of this victory. The conflict, which began on October 7th, resulted in at least 47,460 Palestinian deaths and 1,139 Israeli deaths.

Regarding Syria, Araghchi expressed Iran’s support for a government inclusive of all segments of Syrian society, while stressing the importance of maintaining Syria’s territorial unity and preventing the country from becoming a haven for terrorists. He reiterated Iran’s commitment to regional stability, although he acknowledged Iran’s past support for the Assad regime.

On the subject of US-Iranian relations, Araghchi pointed to the history of hostility and mistrust, citing the Trump administration’s withdrawal from the nuclear deal and the assassination of Qassem Soleimani. While stating Iran is not opposed to direct dialogue with the US, he insisted that any talks should be limited to the nuclear issue and urged the new Trump administration to rebuild confidence through concrete actions, such as the release of frozen Iranian assets.
