**Erode, Tamil Nadu –** Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) chief coordinator Seeman launched a scathing attack on the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government during a campaign rally in Erode on Friday. Seeman accused the government of perpetuating poverty in the state for the past 60 years, contrasting its claims of a modern and developed Tamil Nadu with the realities faced by citizens.
He highlighted the lack of basic amenities in government schools and colleges, while drawing a stark comparison to the opulent memorials on Marina beach, particularly that of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. Seeman further criticized the persistence of manual scavenging, alleging that the “modern Tamil Nadu” touted by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin exists only in rhetoric. He claimed that the practice of offering monetary inducements to voters is the true representation of modern Dravidianism. Seeman’s comments were made during a campaign event for the NTK candidate, M.K. Seethalakshmi, contesting the Erode (East) Assembly by-election.
