Fri Jan 31 23:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Slams KCR, Challenges Him to Assembly Debate
**Hyderabad, February 1, 2025** – Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy launched a scathing attack on his predecessor, K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), responding to KCR’s recent comments about his leadership style. Reddy accused KCR of corruption and challenged him to a debate in the Assembly.
Reddy’s sharp retort came in response to KCR’s claim that he would not be easily defeated. The CM retorted, “You might hit hard, but let’s see if you can stand without a support post,” sarcastically referencing KCR’s perceived reliance on his family and wealth. He further challenged KCR, stating, “If you have the guts, come to the Assembly, and let’s settle the score.”
Reddy accused KCR and his family of amassing wealth during their time in power, alleging they plundered the state’s resources and accumulated ₹7 lakh crore in debt over ten years. He criticized KCR for breaking numerous electoral promises, citing unfulfilled pledges regarding religious donations and development projects. Reddy also accused KCR of neglecting the concerns of the people and focusing instead on his family’s actions.
Reddy highlighted his government’s achievements, including the implementation of farmer loan waivers, the provision of free electricity, and the creation of over 55,000 government jobs within a year. He contrasted this with KCR’s tenure, asserting his commitment to fulfilling promises and delivering on his commitments. He also announced the upcoming release of the caste census report and its presentation in the Assembly.
Reddy dismissed comparisons of his social media popularity with KCR’s, likening KCR to an expired banknote. He expressed concern over the uncontrolled behavior of KCR’s son and son-in-law and called for them to be reigned in.
Reddy also addressed the importance of education, stating that his government had increased the education budget significantly and vowed to further improve the quality of education in government schools. He spoke at the 150th anniversary celebrations of the prestigious Mogiligedda Government School, highlighting its historical significance and pledging further development funding. He also mentioned plans for sports development and encouraged Congress party workers to prepare for upcoming local body elections.
