**Kalaburagi, Karnataka, January 31, 2025** – The Sharnbasveshwar Residential Composite Pre-University College in Kalaburagi has announced a significant increase in its scholarship program for the upcoming 2025-26 academic year. A total of ₹3.5 crore will be awarded to 120 meritorious students joining the institution’s I PU course.
This represents a substantial increase from last year’s ₹2.5 crore scholarship fund and an expansion from 90 to 120 scholarship recipients. The scholarships are named after Doddappa Appa, the ninth Peetadhipati of Sharanabasaveshwar Samsthan.
The SBR-CET entrance examinations will be held on April 6th for CBSE and ICSE students and April 13th for State Board students. The top 40 students will receive a 100% scholarship, including a waiver of hostel and college fees. Students ranked 41st to 80th will receive a 50% waiver, while those ranked 81st to 120th will receive a 25% scholarship.
The announcement was made by Peethadhipathi of Sharanabasaveshwar Samsthan Sharanabasappa Appa and chairperson Dakshayini S. Appa at a press conference on Friday.
