**New Delhi, February 1, 2025** – Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today unveiled a new ₹10,000 crore Fund of Funds for startups in her eighth Union Budget presentation. This initiative aims to boost entrepreneurship and improve access to credit for startups across the country. The expanded fund builds on existing alternative investment funds, which have already garnered commitments exceeding ₹91,000 crore. The government will also enhance credit guarantee cover to further support startups. Additionally, a new scheme targeting five lakh women and Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe first-time entrepreneurs was announced. These measures are expected to significantly impact India’s startup ecosystem.
