**NEW DELHI** – Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is poised to upgrade Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited’s (BSNL) 4G network to 5G, pending a final decision from the state-owned telecom provider. A TCS-led consortium, which includes C-DoT and Tejas Networks, is currently rolling out a pan-India 4G network for BSNL, with 65,000 of 100,000 planned sites already operational. BSNL must now determine the specific spectrum band, initial 5G deployment sites, and service areas before the upgrade can proceed.
