**Nottingham, England** – Indian fast bowler Arshdeep Singh has achieved a significant milestone, becoming India’s leading wicket-taker in Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) during the first match of the ongoing series against England. In just 61 matches and 2.5 years of his international career, Singh surpassed Yuzvendra Chahal’s record.
Singh’s impressive consistency is highlighted by his 49 wickets in his first 32 T20I matches, averaging 18.77 runs per wicket with an economy rate of 8.53. This compares favorably to England’s Jofra Archer, who in the same number of matches has 40 wickets, averaging 22.75 with a more economical 7.73. While Archer boasts a lower economy rate, Singh’s higher wicket tally showcases his aggressive approach.
Singh’s achievement is even more remarkable considering his relatively short international career. His consistent wicket-taking ability bodes well for India’s future T20I campaigns. He is now on track to reach the 100-wicket milestone in T20Is.
