Fri Jan 31 19:25:41 UTC 2025: ## Two Police Officials Arrested in Andhra Pradesh on Bribery Charges
**Vijayawada, February 1, 2025** – The Andhra Pradesh Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested two police officials on Friday for allegedly accepting bribes. Madanapalle Rural Circle Inspector Ramesh Naidu and Ramasamudram Sub-Inspector Venkata Subbaiah were apprehended while accepting ₹70,000 to release a lorry involved in a road accident on January 23rd. ACB Director-General Atul Singh stated that the bribe was demanded in exchange for the lorry’s release. The officers will be produced before the Special Court for ACB Cases in Nellore.
In a separate incident, the Eluru Range ACB arrested the warden of the Nuzvid Social Welfare Hostel for Girls, P. Nagamani, and her husband Ramoji Rao. They allegedly accepted ₹30,000 as a bribe to reinstate an outsourced employee who had been recently dismissed. The arrest took place at their residence in Nuzvid.
The ACB urged citizens to report corruption through their helpline, 1064, or by contacting local ACB officers.
