Sat Feb 01 09:10:00 IST 2025: ## A$AP Rocky Trial: Childhood Friend Testifies About Shooting

**Los Angeles, CA** – The assault trial of rapper A$AP Rocky (Rakim Mayers) continued this week with testimony from A$AP Relli (Terrell Ephron), a childhood friend and fellow member of the A$AP Mob. Ephron, who alleges Rocky shot at him during a 2021 Hollywood confrontation, took the stand on Tuesday.

Ephron described an argument escalating into gunfire, stating that Rocky fired a gun at him, grazing his hand. He recounted the incident, claiming Rocky fired twice before fleeing the scene. Prosecutors presented surveillance footage and other evidence corroborating Ephron’s account.

However, Rocky’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, maintains the rapper’s innocence, alleging in opening statements that the gun was a prop and that Ephron is motivated by financial gain. Tacopina has repeatedly stated that multiple witnesses will testify to the prop gun claim. He declined to comment on whether Rocky will take the stand.

Ephron has filed both a civil lawsuit against Rocky for assault and battery, and a separate defamation suit against Rocky and his legal team.

The prosecution’s case hinges on the video evidence, which they argue clearly shows Rocky firing the weapon. The defense, on the other hand, paints Ephron as a liar driven by greed. The jury, composed of seven women and five men, is tasked with weighing this conflicting testimony.

Rocky, who pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, faces up to 24 years in prison if convicted. He rejected a plea deal that included 180 days in jail. His partner, Rihanna, attended the trial on Wednesday. The trial continues, with Ephron expected back on the stand for cross-examination.
